Flower and Garden Show

The Annual Flower and Garden show was a sight to behold, not only were the displays amazing, but it was packed! We had several displays with our material in them, and couldn't be more happy with the end result. Small garden buildings seem to be all the rage. The idea that everyone needs a place to get away too, even if it's just to the garden, definitely has it's appeal. Along that line, we are working with a local craftsman to bring in a small cottage to show just how great of a space these cottages can be. Stay tuned!

Over the last 5 years, we have developed quite a following for our Alaskan Yellow Cedar, used specifically for raised beds and landscape timbers. One of our contractors came in today with a picture from a architect and a client in love with a dream. Its up to us to help make some of the dream a reality (see pics). We always enjoy the challenge of thinking outside the box with designs, patterns, and materials. Now the craftsmanship of our skilled contractors can make clients dreams come to fruition.

It's starting to get cold and windy around here, so we thought it might be time to close up the warehouse before it gets too bad. Around here guys seem to jump at the chance to build things, and this is was no different. Hugh stepped forward as the experienced door maker( because of his past experience holding the door for his wife) and did a great job. One of the things we are proud of, is our experience in having built most of the projects that we guide our customers through. Exotic Hardwood

Red Balau is a selectively logged hardwood from the Asia Pacific region that is very similar looking to Philippine Mahogany only twice as hard and considerably more durable. It is available in 1x4 and 1x6 with an 8-18' talley, at a considerably lower cost than Iron Wood. It can be stained or left to silver. Stop by to see our display and talk to us about pricing.

Maintenance Free Decking

"Maintenance Free", a term that is thrown around allot these days. What does it mean? Not having to stain your deck? Not having to wash your deck? All decks, regardless of what they are made of will need to be maintained, whether it is washing or a new coat of stain. We have a couple of species of wood that we believe are about as maintenance free as you can get. IPE, Ulin, and Garapa can be left unstained to turn a silvery grey. They won't rot or mold, and the bugs don't like them either, a simple sweep every once and a while and you're all set to spend your time enjoying the weekend. Stop buy and see what they look like. We also make them into flooring and siding!

James has done a incredible job of coming up with a structure to accentuate our massive 12x12 clear beams. His attention to detail has made this a truly breathtaking structure. Custom Bevel

Here, at Issaquah Cedar & Lumber, we specialize in making hard to find products. A customer came to us looking to match his bevel, he had looked at the box stores and local lumber yards to no avail. He was looking for 1 1/4" x 10" tight knot bevel to match what was on his house. We were able to make it for him and save him from having to patch his wall with something that didn't match, or worse case tear off everything on his wall and replace it with a "stock" item.
